Breakfast
An early morning drive and full day visit to a tiny town about 120kms
west of Alexandria to visit the El Alamein War Museum on the northern
coast of Egypt. It is here that in 1942, the Germans were led by Rommel
and the Allies by Montgomery in the engagement known as the Battle of
Alamein, World War II. The Museum is full of war artefacts, and some of
the land mines (that are still to be found in the surrounding desert).
The museum was erected to mark the battle.
Transfer to your hotel, the Hilton Ramses or similar in Cairo for the
night.

- Day 2 - Saturday 13 November 2010 - Cairo
Breakfast
After breakfast you will be met by our representative for a full day
tour, starting with the Egyptian National Military Museum. The Egyptian
National Military Museum is located within the Cairo Citadel, a walled
complex of fortifications and buildings situated on a promontory
overlooking Cairo. During your walkabout tour of the Museum's static
display, you will be able to have a close view of a MiG-17, MiG-21,
Sukhoi -7, Wilga, Yak-18A and a Zlin Z-226.
Lunch
Your next stop will be the Cairo Arab-Israel war museum. "The
October 1973 War Panorama," which relates the battles of Egypt's
greatest victory of modern times can be viewed there. The idea of the
panorama was first introduced during President Hosni Mubarak's visit to
North Korea in 1983. Weaponry used by the Egyptian troops and Israeli
weapons seized in the war is showcased in the open display area. The
cylinder-shaped main building is 44m x 27m intersected by a 10.5m-iron
and copper tower. Enjoy a walkabout tour of the museums open air static
displays.

the Khan Khalili Bazaar, followed by dnner at the Khan Khalili Naguib
Mahfouz Restaurant.

- Day 3 - Saturday 13 November 2010 - Cairo/ Aswan (1st Cruise day)
Breakfast.
Transfer to Cairo Domestic Airport for flight to Aswan.
Arrive Aswan and visit the Temple of Philae.
Transfer to your Nile
Cruise Boat for embarkation on a 3 Nights/4 Days Cruise. Lunch on board.
Visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk (Granite Quarries). Afternoon
tea. In the late afternoon, sail on a Felucca and view Kitchener Island,
the Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum.
Dinner and overnight
on board in Aswan.
- Day 4 - Sunday 14 November 2010 - Aswan/ Kom Ombo/ Edfu (2nd Cruise
day)
Breakfast on board.
This morning you will sail to Kom Ombo to visit
the Temple of Kom Ombo, shared by two gods. Lunch on board. Afternoon
Tea while sailing to Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, one of the most
complete architectures in Egypt dedicated to the god Horus, son of
Osiris.
Dinner and overnight on board in Edfu
- Day 5 - Monday 15 November 2010 - Edfu/ Esna/ Luxor (3rd Cruise
day)
Breakfast on board.
Sail to Luxor via the Esna lock. Visit the East
Bank of the Nile to visit the Karnak and Luxor temples. Lunch on board.
Afternoon Tea.
Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
- Day 6 - Tuesday 16 November 2010 - Luxor (4th Cruise day)
Breakfast on board.
Disembarkation after breakfast.
Cross by ferry
to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen
Hatshepsut at El-Deir El-Bahari, and view the Colossi of Memnon.
Transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo International and your flight to OR Tambo
International, Johannesburg.
Optional Extra: Early morning Hot Air Balloon Ride.
