Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, meet and assist,

Amman is a city that is spread over 19 hills, a modern city in the
middle of the ancient capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Amman
was known as Rabbath-Ammon during prehistoric times and later it was
known as Philadelphia. Amman has been subject to a number of excavations
which have revealed the remains of the Neolithic period and the
Hellenistic period, as well as the late Roman to Arab Islamic Ages.
Amman (the site) is crowned by the Citadel, which includes structures
like the great Temple of Hercules, the Byzantine church as well as the
Omayyad Palace. At the foot of the Citadel lies the 6000 seat Roman
Theatre, a deep-sided bowl that is carved into the hill and is still
used for cultural events to this day. Another newly restored theatre is
the 500 seat Odeon which is used for concerts. Another 5,000 seat Roman
Theatre lies at the foot of the Citadel. There are three museums found
in the area that offer history and culture - the Archaeological Museum,
the Folklore Museum and the Museum of popular Tradition. You will also
discover a hill with the ruins of the Temple of Hercules and a Museum
with artefacts dating back to the earliest settlement around 700,000
years ago.
Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

- 21st October 2010 - Thursday Petra
Petra is an ancient city that is located in the south of Jordan and
is now a UNESCO world heritage site. It is here that you will experience
the enchantment of what Petra has to offer. In times gone by, Petra was
known as Sela. Both the names mean "rock." Petra was the great
capital of the Nabataeans, from which, at the height of their power,
they ruled the country as far north as Damascus. There was an earlier
Edomite town on the site, but of that, practically no traces now remain.
The city was extensively occupied from about the fifth century B.C. to
the fifth century A.D., and was at its heyday during the fifth centuries
B.C. and A.D. Much of Petra's appeal comes from its spectacular setting
deep inside a narrow desert gorge. The site is accessed by walking
through a kilometer long chasm (or Siq), the walls of which soar 200
meters upwards. Petra's most famous monument, the Treasury, appears
dramatically at the end of the Siq.
After breakfast, half day visit, transfer to Wadi Rum, jeep tour 2 hrs -
back to Amman, dinner and overnight.
- 22nd October 2010 Friday - Petra/Amman
After breakfast you will have a free day of leisure to enjoy what
the city has to offer. Enjoy dinner on your last night and stay
overnight in the hotel.
- 23rd October 2010 Saturday - Amman
After breakfast you will check out, have some free time before your
transfer to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure from
Amman to Cairo International.

International the next morning on the 24th October 2010
